Last night, Kanye West the quasi messianic hip hop cum high fashion superstar wore look 35 from Balençiaga’s AW20 collection by Demna Gvasalia, and it was the pinnacle of “see but absolutely don’t touch” elan.
The outfit, which Ye wore to Atlanta’s sprawling Mercedes Benz stadium for the second listening party for Donda, consisted of a black rubber spike-covered jacket, roomy cargo pants, and bovver boots with the proportions of small combine harvesters. It was presumably designed to not only add a touch of sartorial melodrama to proceedings but also to instruct nearby members of the public to keep a respectful distance.
